ReactLive vs Mentimeter

Presentations that the audience can't drift through.

ReactLive is the modern Mentimeter alternative. Live polls, word clouds, scales, ranking, quizzes, Q&A — every interaction Mentimeter offers, without the 50-participant cap, the annual-only billing, or the per-presenter trap. The difference: polls draft themselves the moment they become relevant, repeat questions get answered automatically, and the room's mood is tracked while you're presenting — not in a survey two weeks later. You stay focused on your material. The audience stays focused on you.

— The short version

Same beautiful polls. Less work to run them.

Mentimeter built a beautiful interactive-presentation product. The word clouds are gorgeous, the scales are well-designed, the visual language is genuinely best-in-class. We're fans. ReactLive matches the audience-facing experience — every poll type, every interaction, every export — and changes what the presenter has to do. With Mentimeter, you build every poll in advance and click through them by hand. With ReactLive, the AI proposes the right poll the moment it becomes useful, you approve, the room votes.

Same polls. Same quizzes. Same audience experience. No 50-participant cap. No annual-only billing. No per-presenter pricing. The presenter focuses on the talk. The software handles the engagement.

— What changes about your day

Four jobs you stop having to do yourself.

Mentimeter asks one human to do all the work: build every slide in advance, click through them by hand, scroll the Q&A queue, write the recap afterwards. Here's what the AI takes off your plate.

01 · Auto-Answer Loop

Repeats answered before they hit the queue.

Half the questions in any audience queue were already answered on stage three minutes ago. ReactLive transcribes the speaker in real time, embeds each incoming question, and matches against the live transcript. If confidence clears your threshold, the questioner gets a grounded, cited answer in under a second — and the moderator never sees noise.

Median latency 0.8s · 94% match precision
02 · Sentiment, live

Reads the room while you read your slides.

Sentiment is tracked across every question, reaction, and poll response — minute by minute. When confusion or disengagement is rising, you see it before the chat does. Mentimeter shows you what the audience answered. ReactLive shows you how they're feeling about it.

Trend · last 10 min +0.32 ▲
03 · Polls that draft themselves

The right poll, the moment it's relevant.

ReactLive listens to what's being said on stage and to what the audience is asking, then drafts polls one click from going live. You approve; the room votes. Mentimeter waits for you to build the poll in advance. ReactLive proposes it the second it becomes useful.

Suggested · 14:23 Which pricing tier matters most?
04 · SOUL.md

Speaks on your behalf, the way you would.

The AI never goes off-script because the script is yours. One markdown file defines tone, red lines, escalation rules, vocabulary — what the AI can answer, what it has to flag, how it sounds doing it. Version it in git. Ship updates between events. No prompt engineering, no black box, no "AI feature" you can't predict.

— Honest section

When Mentimeter is still the right call.

We're not here to tell you Mentimeter is bad. It's a polished, well-designed product. Here's when sticking with it makes sense.

— The honest list

You should probably stay on Mentimeter if

  • You're a solo presenter doing slide-by-slide interactives. Mentimeter's slide-based authoring flow is genuinely well-designed for one person building a polished interactive deck. If that's the whole job, our flow is overkill.
  • Your audiences are reliably under 50 people, once a month. The free-tier cap doesn't bite if you're running a small recurring workshop. Mentimeter's free tier works fine for that, and the visual templates are very good.
  • Visual brand polish is the entire point. Mentimeter's themes and visual templates are mature. We're closing the gap, but if your event is a marketing showcase where the polls are part of the visual brand statement, Mentimeter's library is bigger today than ours.
  • You don't have a live speaker. ReactLive's AI layer depends on real-time speech transcription. If your "event" is a fully async survey or a self-paced training module, the AI features add nothing — and at that point either tool works.
— Pricing

Priced for reality.

We're finalising tiers with our beta cohort before public launch. Here's what you can count on — and how it compares to Mentimeter's published structure.

A real free tier.

Unlimited events. Real AI features, not a crippled preview. No 50-participant rolling-month cap — generous enough to run small events indefinitely without ever reaching for your card.

Self-serve, no sales calls.

Paid plans start at a price marketing teams can approve themselves — not enterprise contract territory. Credit-based, usage-metered, no per-presenter trap. Monthly or annual, your choice.

Enterprise when you need it.

Custom contracts for 10,000+ concurrent events, SSO, audit logging, regional data residency, and dedicated capacity. Talk to us when you're ready — not a prerequisite to start.

— FAQ

Questions worth asking before you switch.

How is ReactLive different from Mentimeter?+

ReactLive does everything Mentimeter does — live polls, word clouds, scales, ranking, open-ended questions, quizzes with leaderboards, Q&A, interactive presentations. What's different is what the presenter has to do. With Mentimeter, you build every poll in advance and click through them by hand. With ReactLive, the AI proposes the right poll the moment it becomes useful, you approve, the room votes. Repeat questions get answered automatically with citations from the speaker's transcript. Sentiment is tracked while the event is happening. The post-event recap writes itself. Same poll types your audience already knows — less work for you to run them.

Does ReactLive have all the question types Mentimeter has?+

Yes. Multiple choice, word clouds, open-ended, scales, ranking, Q&A with upvoting, live quizzes with leaderboards, and image-based questions are all supported. Custom branding and themes work the same way. The presentation runs in a clean, full-screen view with no Mentimeter watermark on the free tier.

Does ReactLive have a 50-participant cap on the free plan?+

No. ReactLive's free tier supports unlimited participants per event and unlimited events per month. We don't lock you out for 30 days when you cross a hidden limit. Mentimeter's 50-participant rolling-month cap is the single most-cited pain point in their G2 reviews — we built our free tier specifically not to do that.

Is ReactLive cheaper than Mentimeter?+

We're finalising tiers with our beta cohort before public launch — see the pricing section above for what we're committing to. The shape: a real free tier with unlimited events and the AI features included (not a crippled preview), self-serve paid plans priced at a level marketing teams can approve themselves, and enterprise contracts when you genuinely need them. No per-presenter licensing, no annual lock-in, no contact-sales gating for standard features. For comparison, Mentimeter's published pricing is Basic at €156/year/presenter and Pro at €324/year/presenter, both annual-only with per-presenter pricing and 3–7% automatic annual increases. Waitlist members get final pricing locked in and three events free.

Can I import my Mentimeter presentations into ReactLive?+

We don't offer direct .menti import — Mentimeter's file format isn't open. But ReactLive's AI setup generates a full event from your slide deck, agenda, or even a meeting description in seconds. Most teams switching over rebuild faster than they expect, and we help personally during early access.

When is Mentimeter still the right choice?+

If your primary use is solo, slide-by-slide interactive presentations — a single educator running classroom polls, a sales rep adding word clouds to a pitch deck, a workshop facilitator wanting visual templates — Mentimeter's product is mature, polished, and well-designed for that flow. If you only need live polling occasionally and the 50-participant cap doesn't bite you, the free tier works. ReactLive's AI engagement layer is overkill for those use cases.

Is ReactLive's AI optional?+

Yes. Every AI feature can be turned off individually or all at once, per event or permanently. With AI off, ReactLive operates as a clean, fast polling and Q&A platform — a direct Mentimeter replacement without the participant cap. You can flip AI back on for one event to evaluate it.

What about Slido and Pigeonhole — should I look at those instead?+

Worth knowing about both. Slido is closer to ReactLive in feature shape (Q&A-led, corporate-friendly) but doesn't have the AI engagement layer either — see our Slido comparison for the detailed breakdown. Pigeonhole is similar to Slido and adds AI translation, but the audience-engagement-AI gap is the same. Most teams evaluating Mentimeter end up comparing all four; the deciding factor is usually whether you want a polling-and-presentation tool or an AI engagement teammate.

Your next presentation, noticeably more alive.

Same beautiful polls your audience expects. None of the busywork. The full Mentimeter feature set with no participant cap, no annual lock-in, plus the AI handling repeats and sentiment and follow-up. You stay focused on your material — the room stays focused on you.
